Although most of the population in Portugal is catholic, this is a very open country regarding each ones faith. It is possible to have your ceremony in a catholic church even if you are having an Anglican ceremony; the only rule is that your religion is recognized by the Portuguese state and the Anglican is.
Algarve has also a big Anglican community and also Anglican Fathers living here permanently and performing weddings.
